Oh, boy! Controversy. I'm prepared to look at and discuss any opposing points about this.

This has happened to me more than once:

I notice that someone has great art, and I go to look at their commissions. Their prices are pretty affordable, so I ask them to draw Nook and I (and it's always a "fluff"-type pose, like snuggling, or nuzzling, that kind of thing, nothing sexual)

... and I get a response that just says, "I don't draw gay couples" (Or something along the lines of it). No explanation, no reasoning, just that they don't draw them.
Usually, these people accept straight couples and will draw them without a fuss. So, why refuse a couple when the only difference is that they're of the same gender?
You're really turning down a commissioner because of what's between their (and their loved one's) legs?
What?

It's totally OKAY to not approve of homosexuality, I'm cool with it, as long as you don't try to deny someone basic rights that you would've happily given to someone who was straight, like commissions, for example.

Commissions are BUSINESS. Many people know very well not to let their personal views get in the way of commissions. Take stamp makers, for example, they very often take commissions for stamps that express views that they don't agree with, and they're fine with it.  Someone is paying you to draw for them.

My final point is, even though it's a matter of personal preference, it's not fair at ALL to deny someone who's gay a commission, when if that person was straight, you would've drawn their requested art for them no problem.
